More Than Just A Gym
Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu was founded with a single purpose: to provide the highest level of martial arts instruction in Brazoria County. We are not a fitness franchise or a cardio kickboxing gym. We are a serious martial arts academy that welcomes complete beginners while maintaining an elite standard of training.
Our culture is built on mutual respect, hard work, and continuous improvement. Whether your goal is to become a world champion, learn real-world self-defense, or simply find a supportive community to help you get in shape, you will find your home here.

Noah Wyatt
Head Coach & Founder
Coach Noah brings a unique blend of high-level competition experience and real-world tactical knowledge to the mats. As an active competitor and veteran of Submission Hunter Pro, he understands what it takes to perform under pressure.
Beyond sport Jiu-Jitsu, Coach Noah is a Law Enforcement professional and Defensive Tactics Instructor. This background ensures that the self-defense techniques taught at Southern Elite are practical, effective, and legally sound.
He utilizes modern, ecological coaching methodologies—moving away from dead repetitions and focusing on task-based games that build true skill and intuition faster.

Coach Javi
MMA & Noon Jiu-Jitsu Coach
Started martial arts at a young age - 6 yrs old with kung fu for several years. At the age of 13 I was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by my older brother for several months.
I began training consistently as an adult since 2007 until now, along the way I have earned the title as No-Gi American Nationals Champ, No-Gi pan-American champ, Houston open champ, Dallas Open Champ, Austin Open champ and several other championships for various Organizations.

Coach Carson
Morning Jiu-Jitsu Coach
Coach Carson has been training Jiu-Jitsu since 2020 and holds a brown belt under Justin Renick. After years of team sports growing up, he needed a new outlet for his competitive drive—and Jiu-Jitsu quickly became it.
What started as scratching a personal itch has evolved into something deeper: a genuine passion for watching those around him grow, improve, and succeed on and off the mats.
Teaching Jiu-Jitsu is now one of Carson’s greatest joys. He loves breaking down techniques, celebrating those breakthrough moments, and helping students unlock their potential. If you’re looking to challenge yourself, build confidence, or just find a supportive community, Coach Carson would be honored to share the mats with you!

Coach Greg
Assistant Kids Jiu-Jitsu Coach
With a lifelong background in strength training, endurance racing, obstacle courses, and high-performance conditioning, Coach Greg built his foundation in discipline and physical resilience long before stepping onto the mats.
After discovering Jiu-Jitsu and catch wrestling in 2022, he committed fully to the craft. As a coach, Greg prioritizes physical and mental growth, teaching athletes to understand why techniques work — not just how to perform them.
He believes consistent attention to the small details creates long-term success on and off the mat.

Coach Ari
Kids Wrestling Coach
I have 7 years of wrestling experience as well as 2 years in Jiu-Jitsu. My wrestling experience includes a 4 year varsity high school career where I was a 2× District Champion, 2× Regional placer, and 2× State Qualifier, finishing in the top 16 in Texas for two consecutive years. Since then I have continued to stay involved in the sport by coaching and training.
Through wrestling, I found a strong sense of family, work ethic, and confidence that carried over into Jiu-Jitsu. Since joining, Jiu-Jitsu has become a major part of my life, and I am passionate about continuing to learn, train, and help others grow in the sport. I’m excited to be part of the team at Southern Elite and to help bring a strong wrestling foundation to the program since wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu complement each other in many ways.

Coach Michaela
Tiny Ninjas Coach
Coach Michaela’s martial arts journey began not for herself, but for her daughter. When her daughter faced bullying at school, Michaela promised to step on the mats with her to help build her confidence. In June of 2025, they both took their first class at Southern Elite with zero prior experience.
What started as a mother's mission quickly became a personal passion. In just a matter of months, she watched her daughter's entire demeanor transform, gaining the ability to defend herself and the confidence to overcome challenges. Along the way, Michaela fell in love with the sport herself.
Now, she shares that same encouragement and support she received on day one by teaching our Tiny Ninjas program. Coach Michaela is living proof that it's never too late to start, and she loves helping our youngest students take their first steps on the mat.
